What our crawler reads, how often, and how to stop it. Last updated: October 22, 2026

If you found HomeoNetixBot in your server logs, this page explains what it was doing. It is run by NETIX INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED, the company behind HomeoNetix.

What it is

HomeoNetixBot fetches publicly available web pages that rank in search results for keywords we track. Our editors use it to compare a page’s content with our own, for our own editorial planning: for example, to see which topics a well-ranked article covers that ours does not.

The comparison is made automatically. Our software reads the text of the page, and an AI model lists how its topics differ from ours. The result is seen only by our editors.

Every request carries this user agent:

HomeoNetixBot/1.0 (+https://homeonetix.com/bot)

How often it visits

  • Rarely. It runs only when one of our editors asks for a comparison. There is no continuous crawl.
  • At most one request to a site every 10 seconds.
  • Results are cached for days, so the same page is not fetched again for every request.
  • It reads your robots.txt before it fetches a page, and reads it again at most once a day.

What it does not do

  • It does not log in, fill in forms or accept cookies.
  • It does not run scripts. It reads the page’s HTML and nothing else.
  • It does not collect personal data.
  • It does not copy your content into our website. Our editors write in their own words.
  • It does not use your content to train AI models.

How to block it

HomeoNetixBot follows robots.txt. It obeys both the rules you write for HomeoNetixBot and the rules for all crawlers (User-agent: *): if either says no, it does not fetch the page. To keep it off your whole site, add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: HomeoNetixBot
Disallow: /

To keep it out of one part only, name that path instead, such as Disallow: /members/. If your robots.txt cannot be read, it leaves your site alone and tries again later.
